Exciting news! Last year, one of our gang members set off to move to another state. It was supposed to be a permanent move… after all it was a LONG drive and not one you’d want to repeat. BUT… today they arrived back. They missed us all so much that they came back. Hurrah.
Flo and I arrived a little after everyone else but apparently the reunion between Cody and the gang went well and by the time we’d got there they were all running around as though they’d only seen each other last week. Flo was a little wary to begin with – the tail was straight between the legs and she ran away, but in no time at all they were playing together just like the old days!
Welcome back handsome!
The dry season is upon us. It’s interesting, we say we have 2 seasons; wet and dry. The local Gundjeihmi-speaking people of Kakadu divide the year into 6 seasons depending on the wildlife and plants that are around, and what the weather is doing. No matter whose calendar you’re looking at, we are now entering our coolest part of the year. This means the relative humidity drops from ‘mouldy everything’ to ‘where the **** is my lip balm’. We have slightly cooler days (I don’t think it even reached 30 degrees yesterday) and overnight it gets relatively cold – which usually means about 17 or 18 degrees here, but much cooler a little inland. You know you’re coming into the dry season (Yegge ) when …
And finally…. apparently hell has frozen over (in Fergus’ world, anyway)
