Just so we’re clear, Fergus isn’t all sweetness and light. If ever there was a passive-aggressive feline personality type, she would be it. In the days when she was allowed outside, we were frequently off up to the v-e-t to have a wound cleaned and stitched or, worse, have drains put in. I don’t think she was ever just picked on for no reason – I’m as sure as I can be that she’d start most of the fights but wouldn’t have the goods to see them through to the end and so the result would be her getting duffed up. I’ve watched her walk past a sleeping George hissing and spitting at him. She’s also sunk her claws into Flo’s rump as the poor dog’s been walking past, minding her own business. Here’s what she got up to at the weekend –
As for Fergus’ health, her samples have been sent off down to Melbourne and we’re waiting for the results of some tests to know where to go next. Hopefully that will be at the end of this week. She’s on fine form other than her unfortunate digestive issues, so I’m trying not to be a stress-head about the whole thing.
